For Safety, Comfort, and Confidence in Every Ride
Choosing the correct riding helmet is about more than size—it’s about fit, head shape, shell and liner combinations, and performance features like MIPS and peak types. Use this guide to confidently select a helmet that fits your head, your riding style, and your safety needs.
Step 1: How to Measure Your Head for a Helmet
What You Need:
- A soft measuring tape
- A mirror or helper
How to Measure:
- Wrap the measuring tape around your head:
- Position it about 1 inch (2–2.5 cm) above your eyebrows.
- Go just above the ears and around the bump at the back of your head.
- Note the circumference in centimeters (cm).
- Repeat 2–3 times for accuracy.
Tip:
- Tie long hair in a low ponytail or measure as you would typically wear it while riding.
Step 2: Find Your Helmet Size
Your helmet consists of two parts:
- The helmet shell (outer structure)
- The removable liner/padding (internal fit system)
These work together to give a custom, secure fit.
Shell Size Range:
Our helmets range from size 49 cm to 65 cm, and may appear as: 49, 50, 51, ..., 65
e.g. 54-55, 56-59, 58 Round Fit, 60 Round Fit, etc.
We offer sizes in single cm, overlapping ranges, and Round Fit variations for different head shapes.
Step 3: Understand Round Fit vs. Standard Fit
How to Check Your Head Shape:
- Have someone view your head from above (bird’s-eye view).
- Oval Head: Longer front-to-back.
- Round Head: Nearly equal front-to-back and side-to-side.
- Long Oval: Elongated front-to-back.
Fit Recommendations:
| Head Shape | Best Fit | Avoid |
|---|---|---|
| Round | “Round Fit” helmets | Standard helmets may pinch at the sides |
| Oval | Standard helmets | Round helmets may press on forehead |
| Long Oval | Longer/narrower shell shape | Round Fit or wide shells |
Round Fit options are clearly labeled on product pages (e.g. 57 Round Fit, 55 M Round, 56-59 Round Fit).
Step 4: Match with Liner or Padding Size
Each helmet shell uses interchangeable liners or removable padding to fine-tune the fit.
Liner/Padding Size Examples:
51, 52, 53, ..., 65
55 (2mm), 56 (15mm), 59 Round Fit, Medium (56–59), X-Small (52–53)
These provide millimetre-level fit precision and also come in:
- Round Fit liners
- Different padding thicknesses (2mm, 3mm, 5mm, 12mm, 15mm)
- Size groups: Small, Medium, Large, X-Large
Quick Liner Fitting Guide:
- Choose the helmet shell based on your overall head size range.
- Pair it with the correct liner or padding to achieve a snug, even fit.
- If in-between sizes, choose the tighter liner—padding compresses over time.
Step 5: Try It On – Fit Test Checklist
Your helmet should fit like a new pair of boots—snug, supportive, not painful.
Fit Checklist:
- Helmet sits level, 1 inch above eyebrows.
- No pressure points or movement.
- Helmet “locks” onto the base of the skull (look for the suction feel).
- Chinstrap sits just under chin—not on throat.
- You can fit one finger between strap and chin.
- No forward/backward rocking when unfastened.
- Wear for 5–10 minutes to test comfort and pressure points.
Optional Helmet Features
MIPS (Multi-directional Impact Protection System):
- Yes / No (shown on product page)
- Adds low-rotation impact protection during falls.
- Recommended for added safety.
Peak Size Options:
- Standard Peak – Classic profile
- Wide Peak – Greater sun/glare protection, favored in outdoor disciplines
Peak size is often chosen by discipline, personal preference, or aesthetic style.
Helmet Fitting Tips for Children
- Follow the same measuring process.
- Never size up “to grow into”—loose helmets are unsafe.
- Make sure the helmet sits flat and low on the child’s forehead.
- Use labeled children’s sizes (e.g.
Small 52–55,55 S, or55 Round Fit). - Kids often benefit from dial-fit systems or removable liners for growing heads.
UK customers: Sizes 55 cm and below are VAT-free.
Summary Table – Example Size Structure
| Shell Size Attribute | Includes Round Fit? | Typical Padding Options |
|---|---|---|
| 54-56 | Yes (e.g. 54 Round Fit) | 54, 55, 55 S, 56 (12mm) |
| 56-58 | Yes | 56, 57 Round, 58 (2mm) |
| 59-61 | Yes | 59 M, 59 L, 60, 61 |

Final Tips
- Always consult the brand’s chart—sizing may vary slightly.
- Try different models if you’re experiencing pressure points.
- Helmets should be replaced after impact or every few years.
- Book a professional fitting if you’re uncertain.
- Choose the right safety certifications based on your riding discipline and region.
